This authentic 1923 page came from a hardbound edition of THE THEATRE magazine publication. Page 25 from December, 1923. Nice original item that measures approximately 9" wide by 12 1/2" tall.
The photo credits of this picture is Schwarz. Picture portrait shows Edward H. Sothern and Julia Marlowe in a scene from Act V of the play Cymeline, a adaptation of a classic written by Shakespeare.
This adaptation of Cymbeline played at:
Jolson's 59th Street Theatre, From October 2, 1923 until the end of October with 15 total appearances. The husband and wife team was cast as: Julia as Imogene and Edward as Posthumus Leonatus. This version was produced by Lee Shubert.
This item is in great shape ... not perfect.... but not far off. No rips or tears. Paper has just a hint of yellowing. A print spot flaw is shown in scan. Page also shows a look as if the printing process was a little off giving the portrait a slight look surface wear. This really doesn't take away from the appearance though. Item is still an excellent piece.... A couple of light handling indentions toward the edges of the page. ...... Hmmmm ... What would you expect for an item more than 84 years old? Extreme left edge of this page was trimmed to remove the staple holes at one time but there is plenty of white on the outside of the pictures' border.
Please note that the page was to big for my scanner and appears cropped.... which is not the case.
